With the increase in isolation sites in the North Territory, thousands of Australians stranded overseas will be able to return home more quickly.

Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) has been informed that the isolation facility in the Haward Springs (Howard Springs) area ,25 km south of Darwin, will be reopened in a few weeks and is expected to receive a total of returnees per month, rotating 500 people every two weeks.

Commercial flights and charter flights will arrive directly at Darwin's Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) base. After disembarking, passengers will travel to Howard Springs for 14 days of mandatory isolation.

Air Qantas (Qantas) will fly eight international flights next week, four from London and four from India.

The airfare for the flight from London is A $2000. And India's departure flights are expected to be lower, about A $1000. These flights will be funded by the Australian Federal government.

A Qantas Dreamliner (Dreamliner) will return with 200 passengers per flight.

At present, the Australian Foreign Affairs and Trade Department (DFAT) registered overseas Australians have reached 38200. 29100 of them told Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they wanted to return home.

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) has been informed that priority will be given to those who are among the most vulnerable. their economic 、 family and health status will be considered.

North Territory Chief Executive Officer Gunner (Michael Gunner) will fly to Sydney and, after tomorrow's cabinet meeting, will announce with Prime Minister Morrison (Scott Morrison) the cost of millions of Australian dollars to boost Howard Springs (isolation). Morrison will also announce a further lifting of the limit on international arrivals.

To meet the growing demand for medical care at the site, additional doctors, nurse and other staff will be recruited from across Australia to enhance the rapid response capacity of the Darwin-based National Emergency and Trauma Emergency Centre (National Critical Care and Trauma Response Centre), which is located at the site.

It is expected that the returnees will have to pay for their isolation in Howard Springs. However, those who can not afford it will receive a grant (HECS) loan. According to local arrangements for domestic segregation, individuals pay $2500, and families of two or more pay $5000.

In addition, passengers who need to be isolated on each flight will be separated from passengers on other flights. The same procedure applies when international passengers enter Hong Kong.

Some Wuhan evacuees and "Princess Diamond (Diamond Princess)" passengers were quarantined in Manigelma village (Manigurr-ma Village) in Haward Springs in the early days of the new crown.

Built in 2012 by Japan's International Petroleum Development Corporation (Inpex), the village near Darwin was used as a dormitory for the company's workers, with up to 3500 workers. The workers' village has been abandoned since 2018.
