In the early hours of Monday morning, a woman in her 40s in northwest Melbourne was stabbed inside her apartment, leaving the suspect at large. The police are carrying out a large-scale manhunt.
Emergency service officers arrived at an apartment in (Alma Street), (Maryborough) Alma Street, Maribole, around 03:45 on Monday and found a severely injured woman in her 40s, the Daily Mail reported. Medical staff carried out emergency rescue at the scene, unable to save the woman`s life.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been formally confirmed. The male suspect allegedly met the deceased and fled before the police arrived at the scene. Police are now conducting a large-scale search, and no suspects have been arrested at this stage.
Mariborough is located northwest of Melbourne, about two hours away. Homicide investigation team police have rushed to the scene, the investigation is continuing.
