According to the Daily Mail, it is not the first time residents have tried to clean up restricted-grade images in a rural Australian city that wants to impose a ban on porn films.

For the third time in (Toowoomba), southeast Queensland, on Oct. 16, men will gather to call for no more porn.

Letitia Shelton, a member of the anti-porn campaign City Women, said there was a lot of evidence that porn could pose a danger to the community.

"some studies have shown that porn films exacerbate domestic violence, leading to an increase in the number of sexual invasion cases among children and the desire to induce paedophilia, even in relation to trafficking in human beings."

It is reported that the, City Women activities began 2 years ago. The first opportunity was held in Toowoomba, and Shelton says there are now thousands of people supporting the event.

Toowoomba Regional Mayor Paul Antonio is the sponsor of rally. Paul is enthusiastic about the issue, which means it`s not just women who are supporting the event, Shelton said.

City Women also wants to solve the problem of the younger generation of porn films. Young people are at greater risk, Shelton said.

"We are working with school principals to talk about bringing a better education to the school and how to help parents."

Toowoomba`s rally has prompted similar events in other parts of Australia, including the Gold Coast, Kingaroy and Illawarra, and even Melbourne.

Shelton says she has received a lot of support messages, from feminism to Muslim.

There are even reports that former French President Francois Hollande has contacted City Women in the hope of getting more information.

"I think the president is probably tired of the damage caused by the porn film and sees that one of the mayors here is at least doing something." It is reported that, City Women has worked closely with local municipalities and churches. "We`re not talking about imposing a ban. It`s an impossible task. It`s more about raising awareness and creating an environment for dialogue."
