A primary school in Darwin, Australia`s northern Territory capital, was forced to spray pepper spray on a 14-year-old with an axe.

Late last night, Northern Territory police received reports that someone had broken into Darwin`s Lyudmila Elementary School (Ludmilla Primary School), and rushed to the scene to deal with it, Radio 9 reported. Police arrived at the scene and found five teenagers trying to escape.

Acting Commander Leidler (Craig Laidler) said police officers found a 14-year-old with an axe in an attempt at the arrest suspect. Police officers were forced to use chili spray as teenagers refused to obey orders to lay down their weapons. The teenager then received medical treatment and was taken away by his family.

Photographs taken from the scene showed severe damage to some classroom doors and graffiti on walls, blackboards and cabinets. The bookshelf was overturned and the floor was a mess.

Lyudmila Elementary School was temporarily closed today as police were still investigating. The police have not yet filed any charges against any of the personnel involved in the arrest case.
