The weather bureau has issued an extreme weather alert, saying the cold front will bring strong winds and showers. Alert cities include Victoria, Tasmania, New State, Capital Territory and South Australia.

Winds in low-lying areas are expected to be as high as 90 km / h, while winds in plateau, coastal and alpine areas are expected to reach 120 km / h.

By 7:30, the wind speed in Hogan Island, Victoria, had reached 135km per hour.

Last night, in southern Tasmania, the wind speed on the island of Maatsuyker reached 163 km / h, Scotts Peak (Scotch (150 km / h, Cape Grim (Cape Grimm), and the wind speed reached 135 km / h. A bushfire in (Budawang National Park), Budowan National Park, near (Ulladulla), about 235 kilometers south of Sydney, was hit by warm weather and strong winds, causing the fire to get out of control, making rescue efforts difficult.

About 100 hectares of land has been burned and property has been threat.
