Five injured pedestrians, including two children, were taken to hospital this afternoon after a Uber collided with a vehicle belonging to the Royal Victorian Society (RACV) at a crossroads in downtown Melbourne.
Sydney tourist Nicole. Brown (Nicole Brown), who was sitting on the Uber, said the driver was preparing a hook turn at the intersection between Williams Street and La Trobe Street around 03:45.
"We were about to turn when a yellow RACV appeared in the driveway and hit it. We`re out of control. The vehicle began to spin and finally hit these people. "
Five pedestrians were hit, including two children.
One adult was taken to hospital, seriously injured but not in danger of life, while four others-two adults and two children-sustained minor injuries.
State police said in a statement that the exact cause of the accident was not clear, but was seen as an accident.
Acting senior police officers said they expected to press charges.
At present, the investigation is still under way.
