In September 2017, a Melbourne bus driver killed a passer-by driving dangerously, breaking up a newly arrived Chinese immigrant family. The case was opened on Friday and the driver was sentenced to a year`s sentence.

Corris (Georgios Koukoulis, 43, hit and killed a Chinese immigrant, GE Jing (Jing Ge, who was crossing the road at the intersection of (Mordialloc), Modiarak, September 5, 2017, the Times reported. The incident occurred only three months after GE Jing and his wife moved to Australia.

After judge announced the verdict, GE Jing`s widow burst into tears in court. "to me, Corris was a murderer, and he ruined my life," she told the victim`s impact statement. I know you don`t want to kill him, but it`s already happened. Husband death, I`m in hell. My perfect family fell apart. "

Corris pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing others death in the county court. Judge Meredith (Gavan Meredith) said that despite "puzzling" his distractions while driving, he did show apparent remorse in the aftermath of the accident.

Corris lived in Greece before returning to Australia in 2014. After being questioned by police, Corris bought a ticket to Qatar.
