During Melbourne Cup Horse Festival (Melbourne Cup Carnival), plain-clothes police will mingle with revelers to tackle alcohol and drug abuse.

According to the Pioneer Sun, the Melbourne Cup Horse Festival will kick off on Saturday and more than 90,000 spectators are expected to flood the Flemington Racecourse (Flemington) to participate in the German Horse Day (Derby Day) event. Public revelry is imminent, plain-clothes police will infiltrate into high-risk areas.

Wilson (Neil Wilson), chief executive of the Victoria Jockey Club (VRC), said: "the roses are blooming, the track looks great, and we can`t wait to kick off the Melbourne Cup Horse Festival."

Wilson also said the A $128 million new club stand (Club Stand) will set a new benchmark for horse-racing hospitality. At the same time, the police warned that the relevant bleachers will be closely monitored.

Superintendent Dav?id Clayton said the police would not launch special operations this year, but that police would crack down on suspicious drug abuse if they found it at the scene. Horse racing days will last for a long time, so alcohol can become a problem, cause public disorder, and so on.

It is understood that there will be baggage check gates at all entrances to the Flemington Racecourse during the Melbourne Cup Festival, with sufficient time reserved for the audience.
