Farmers, nurses, teachers, accountants, IT and other talents are still needed in Australia.

The National Vocational Education Research Center (National Centre for Vocational Education Research) released the latest report. Researchers from Monash and Victoria University analysed 97 job categories and 87 industries and expected to add 1.9 million new jobs by 2024, an average annual increase of 1.8 percent.

Among them, farmers, nurses and teachers will have good job opportunities because the industries themselves are growing so fast, and many of the practitioners are born during baby boomers, and by 2024 they will almost all be retiring. There will be a lot of vacancies.

At the same time, with more free trade agreements signed, an ageing population and a large influx of young new immigrants, Australia`s manufacturing industry will gradually shift from the automotive sector to equipment and pharmaceutical products labeled "made in Australia".

There are worries when there is joy. People who want to develop in retail, mining and public services need to be considered carefully, the report said. Because slow wage growth will lead to weak consumption, household budgets will be tilted towards services, utilities, health care and so on; `the mining boom is at the end of the day; and the limits of the state budget will affect job growth in the public sector.

In addition, the population`s standard of living data-GDP per capita growth will halve from 1.8 percent today to 0.8 percent in 2021, mainly due to an ageing population and slow wage growth.

Let`s look at the employment needs of different industries and jobs.

epilogue

As you can see, by 2024, 1/4 of Australian workers will enter professional jobs, with the greatest demand for teachers, followed by accounting.

Health care will create one hundred and nineteen thousand new jobs, making it the industry with the largest number of employed people, reaching 1.8 million.

In terms of agricultural farms, the overall age of the labour force is the highest, and the replacement rate of future talent is also the highest. Demand is expected to exceed one hundred and twenty one thousand nine hundred and ninety nine.

In addition, IT category talent, cleaning and laundry personnel demand is also very wide.

The report`s authors, Chandra Shah and Janine Dixon, call on government to allocate resources where they need them most, which will also help students chart their future career paths. I hope this is helpful to your choice of courses and majors!
