According to the Times, a terrible car accident recently occurred in northeastern Victoria, killing a mother and a young son in a family of five and dying a man and two other children.
After 09:30 on Friday night, a truck headed east in Brimin`s Murray Valley Highway near Rutherglen, colliding with a car travelling in the opposite direction. The woman believed to be a car driver died instantly, as did her elementary-school son.
The child was in the back seat with two other children, including a baby boy. The other two children, together with a man sitting in the co-pilot, were also seriously injured and were taken to a Melbourne hospital for treatment.
It is reported that these five people are family. The truck driver stopped at the scene to help. He was also admitted to hospital for minor injuries.
The case will be investigated by the major car accident investigation department. The scene of the accident will also be closed.
