China`s visa policy will face major changes, according to the latest news on the website of the National Migration Board.
The State Immigration Administration issued a notice on May 31, deciding to open a new version of foreigners` visas, group visas and residence permits.

According to the State Immigration Administration, the new version of foreigners` visas, group visas and residence permits are sticker documents designed and made with reference to the relevant standards of the DOC9303 machine-readable travel documents of the International Civil Aviation Organization, which are printed with gravure patterns, holographic cursors, discoloration inks and other physical anti-counterfeiting techniques.
Compared with the current version of the certificate, the new version of the certificate has been adjusted in terms of layout specification, column setting, computer code reading rules, etc.
After the opening of the new version of foreigners` visas, group visas and residence permits, the application conditions and channels, examination and approval procedures and standards, fee items and standards, and port inspection requirements for all kinds of documents remain unchanged. Documents previously issued may continue to be used normally during the validity period.
According to the reality of institutional reform, on June 1, 2019, the names of the issuing authorities of the current entry and exit documents will be completely adjusted.
This time, there are 16 kinds of entry and exit certificates involving the adjustment of the name of the issuing authority. Among them, the entry and exit documents of mainland Chinese residents and foreigners will be issued in the name of the State Migration Administration of the people`s Republic of China, and the entry and exit certificates of Chinese citizen to and from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan will be issued in the name of the entry and exit Administration of the people`s Republic of China.
After the name adjustment of the issuing authority, the acceptance, examination and approval, examination and administration of all kinds of entry and exit documents remain unchanged. Overseas Chinese who have been naturalized are treated on the same basis as foreigners. If you stay at the home of Chinese relatives and friends, you have to register for temporary accommodation with the public security organ within 24 hours. If a hotel chooses to stay in a hotel within the territory of China, the hotel shall register for the hotel in accordance with the relevant provisions of the public security administration of the hotel industry, and submit the information on the registration of foreigners to the local public security organ.
If you stay in a place other than a hotel, you should register with the public security organ of your place of residence within 24 hours.
For those who fail to register for temporary accommodation in accordance with the relevant provisions, the public security organ shall, as appropriate, give a warning and impose a fine of not more than 2000 yuan.
If the circumstances are serious, a fine of 500 yuan(not more than 10,000 yuan in total)will be imposed for every day of illegal residence, or administrative details of not less than five days but not more than 15 days.
