As Australia`s new fiscal year approaches, immigration and naturalization are a regular concern.

There has been no change in the standards of naturalization examination

Recently, there have been media reports that Australia`s Unionparty government may abandon its previous policy of increasing the difficulty of naturalization exams, attracting high attention from the immigration community.

Australian Broadcasting Corporation ABC Chinese hereby contact the Australian immigration minister David Coleman (David Coleman) office to verify whether the report is true.

"government continues to keep a close eye on the requirements for citizen status and the continued operation of the broader citizen identity program to ensure the best time for those who want to be Australian citizen to be naturalized," said speaker of immigration minister David Coleman (David Coleman).

Coleman`s speaker did not respond positively to the authenticity of the reports, nor did it say whether it would implement naturalization exam reforms.

Australia`s Unionparty government has said several times since the middle of last year that permanent residents applying for naturalization will have to take an English proficiency test and propose to score an IELTS 5.

Figures released by Unionparty at the time showed that the number of people who could not speak English had been increasing. In 2016, about 820000 permanent residents in Australia spoke little or no English, compared with 300000 in 1981.

According to Alan Tucci (Alan Tudge), then multicultural minister, as many as 1/3 of people in some districts "do not speak Australian national languages fluently or at all".

In addition to increasing the English proficiency test, government also proposed to increase the test of Australian values.

These news have aroused a strong backlash and heated discussion in the migrant community.

Most people have to pass the naturalization exam to get an Australian citizen certificate.

If government, as reported in the media, does not make naturalization tests more difficult, the content of naturalization exams will remain the same, including the profile of Australia, its democratic beliefs, rights and freedom, as well as government and law. The examination questions are randomly selected from 75 questions. The examiners must complete them in 45 minutes and answer 15 correctly.
