According to ABC, Melbourne has lost the title of "the most habitable city" in the economics Think Tank (Economist Intelligence Unit) ranking of global cities.
Melbourne has dominated the ranking of the world`s most livable cities for the past seven years, but now things have changed, and Melbourne`s rating has been reduced due to Western European activists` threat.
At the same time, as crime rates in the Austrian capital remain very low, Vienna scores have risen and won the top spot.
The two cities have been leading the world in the annual survey of 140 cities for years, this time just 0.7 points short. Vienna scored 99.1 and Melbourne 98.4.
Sydney, Australia`s second-largest city, ranks fifth.
