On Monday, Labour candidate Sam Crosby in the Reid district, along with shadow finance minister Chris Bowen, shadow immigration and border protection minister Shayne Neumann, announced the Labour Party`s long-term residence visa policy for parents in Sydney`s Burwood district.

Immigrants and multicultural communities operate their lives in Australia, use existing visas to reunite with parents who are still abroad, and grandparents are limited, expensive and, in some cases, waiting for up to 50 years.

With regard to Labour`s parents` permanent residence visa, Sam Crosby said:

When the Liberal Party forces families to choose which side to reunite with between their parents-in-law and their parents-in-law, or to let their grandparents enjoy their grandchildren, The Liberal Party has breached its promise to immigrant and multicultural Australians.
