They should be ashamed! Food for the elderly in a nursing home is $6, and a meal for an Australian politician is $181

Nurses and caregivers have called for a reform of the elderly care system after reports that some elderly people in Australia were forced to live on a meagre $6 a day.

Although these frail old people can only live on pitiful meals, some of the country`s top politicians are able to squander taxpayers` money chunky because they spend 181 yuan on board and lodging.

The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Association has released these shocking figures-the cost of meals for the elderly is very different from that of members of Parliament, which it calls "a crisis that makes us feel ashamed together."

"our geriatric care system has been neglected by government for too long, please join us and make it better," the association wrote in a tweet posted on Facebook (Facebook).

Under the 1990 Parliamentary Bill of Rights, the costs of accommodation and meals incurred by Australian politicians on duty are borne by taxpayers. Federal government officials can apply for up to $181 in meals and "miscellaneous fees" depending on where they live.

"Travel allowances, including meals and miscellaneous expenses, are reimbursed for accommodation costs up to 181 yuan per day," the document wrote.

The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Association also said staff were severely understaffed and geriatric care agencies were not in place, leaving older Australians without access to proper diets, water supplies or safe drugs.

A Bond University survey found that elderly people in nursing homes spend an average of 6.08 yuan a day on meals.

There are also reports today that Australian Foreign Minister Bi Xiaopu (Julie Bishop) has declared a family travel fee of 32,000 yuan. Since 2015, she has been traveling with her boyfriend Panton (David Panton), who has been in love for many years in Sydney, since 2015. They cost taxpayers as much as five figures.

These allowances allow Mr Panton to travel to and from Australia`s Congress, constituency or home with Bi Xiaopu at the expense of taxpayers. At the same time, Pandon does not have to declare interest to Congress, which requires only the spouse of the congressman to do so. This is because he is not Bi Xiaopu`s "spouse" (they are not married), nor are the two "de facto marriages" (they do not live together). Earlier this month, former Deputy Prime Minister Joyce (Barnaby Joyce) worked with lover Campion (Vikki Campion) on a 2000-kilometer road trip in the tropics of New and Kunzhou, costing taxpayers more than 42,999 yuan.

When House Speaker Bi Xiaopu (Bronwyn Bishop) flew from Melbourne to Gillon in 2015, she resigned after spending more than 5000 dollars on a two-hour drive from Melbourne.
