Around 5 a.m. Today, more than 150 heavily armed Special Operations Group and federal police officers raided three homes in Ascot Vale,Glenroy,Gladstone Park, Melbourne, respectively. Look for a suspect who supplied a gun to Yacqub Khayre, a gunman in the Brighton attacks on June 5th.

Police arrested a 32-year-old man in a house in Gladstone Park.

In Glenroy`s house, police found a replica gun and questioned the two men who lived here, a 31-year-old man and his 51-year-old father. Police are still investigating the house in Gladstone Park, where a person in charge said there were "lots of goods" in the house.

In addition, during a search of an apartment in Churchill Ave, Ascot Vale district, police pulled a cordon around the apartment and deployed police dogs. When the apartment was empty, police broke into the house and gathered evidence in and around the apartment.

According to a nearby neighbor, he was sleeping when he was awakened by a police break. "it was loud. I thought something had happened."

The neighbor said the house the police had searched was a husband and wife in their thirties who had lived here for two years.

Another neighbor said the area is a crime-hit area, often burglary cases.

Deputy Commissioner Patton of the state police said the gunman Khayre used two guns-a sawn-off shotgun), and a shotgun-during the June 5 attacks. And our fellow Chinese, Nick Hao, was brutally killed by gangsters.

Patton also said the two people questioned were not suspected of a terrorist attack, but that the police were just investigating whether they had supplied the gunman Khayre with a gun.

"one thing I must make clear is that so far there has been no evidence of any connection between the two persons questioned and the arrested person and terrorism. Our surprise operation this morning was just to find out if anyone had supplied weapons to the previous terrorist attacks. "

It is reported that during the, Queen`s Birthday long weekend, police will strengthen their patrol of Melbourne`s main venues. Victoria Governor Daniel Andrews, who is taking part in Council of Australian Governments in Hobart, said he would work to strengthen counter-terrorism precautions.
