At an Australian business seminar on Monday, senior Amazon officials said Amazon would open soon. But the timing has not been disclosed, with speculation that Nov. 24 will open because it is an important shopping day in the United States-Black Friday.

Amazon`s warehouse in Australia is located south of Melbourne`s Dandenong and covers an area of 24000 square meters. Amazon`s pick-up robot is said to be picking up thousands of goods here.
In addition to selling its own products, Amazon will invite other Australian merchants to sell them. These merchants will be able to price their own products and be responsible for mailing them. At present, more than 500 Australian companies have moved to the Australian Amazon. The basic requirement for admission is a monthly management fee of 49.95 and a commission of 6% to 15% per item sold.
Amazon said earlier that once Amazon opened, all goods would be 30% cheaper than Australia`s average retail price.
