After stealing three $11,000 handbags from a department store in downtown Sydney last week, the 25-year-old Vietnamese national was arrested last night by police in Randwick, East Sydney.
A subsequent search of a home in Sydney's inner city, Surry Hills, seized more designer handbags suspected of theft, police said.
His stolen handbags, including LV,Christian Dior,Chloe and other brands, retail for more than 50,000 yuan.
The man has been charged with five counts of shoplifting and possession of suspected stolen goods. The designer handbags were allegedly stolen from shops in Sydney and Melbourne.
He was refused bail, appear in the Baramada (Parramatta) District Court today.
