Rent in dozens of towns and urban areas across australia has fallen by as much as a fifth, and some places are even more surprising. According to the Daily Mail, the latest figures show that apartment rents in Sydney and Melbourne have fallen by an average of six percentage points over the past 12 months.

In the case of independent housing, Darwin, the capital of the North Territory, fell by an average of 6 per cent, followed by Sydney by 5 per cent.
