When it comes to why Chapel Street was chosen, Tunick said so.
On a rainy day in 2001, the Yarra River had a very unusual day.
4500 men and women, naked, gathered together.
They packed every place from Flinders Street to the bank of the Yarra River.
With the shutter pressed by Spencer Tunick, a large group of thousands of people came out naked.
Recalling his shooting experience in Melbourne, Tunick said:
"I left very good memories of my work experience in Melbourne in 2001. Melbourne people were brave, even though it was cold that morning and it was still raining."
Over the course of 25 years, Tunick has held 125 ultra-large nude films in 25 countries, shooting nude blockbusters for thousands of volunteers.
This includes two Australian filming operations, the first in Melbourne.
The second time, in 2005, the artist gathered 5000 people at the gate of the Sydney Opera House.
The largest shoot organized by Tunick was in central, Mexico City, in 2007, when a total of 18000 people took part in nude shooting.

In 25 years of filming, Tunick has been arrested five times.
