In December, in a parking lot at a shopping mall in southeastern Melbourne, a local mother clashed with another Asian-American customer over milk powder, breaking her mobile phone, the Daily Mail reported. The Melbourne mother was not convicted of hearing the case Wednesday.

In December, Melbourne`s mother, Smith (Samantha Smith), and another woman who bought large quantities of milk powder were reported to have quarreled at the park`s (Parkmore Shopping Centre) parking lot at Parkmore Mall. During the period, the other side picked up the phone to shoot at Smith, and Smith became emotional. She grabbed each other`s arm and dropped her A $200 mobile phone on the ground. After that, Smith leave the mall. The customer who broke his mobile phone was very upset and reported it to the police. Soon after, the police confirmed Smith`s identity through surveillance.

The case was heard Wednesday by the Dantonne District Court (Dandenong Magistrates' Court). On court, Smith pleaded guilty to a charge of vandalism. But she said it was not right for customers to buy large quantities of milk powder in stores, leaving shelves empty and selling them overseas.

She says the Coles supermarket in her area has always had a lot of Asian-American customers (snapping up milk powder). Although she complained to the supermarket many times, the supermarket did not take any action.

In the end, the mother was sentenced to a compliance order and had to pay a $100 fee to the court. She was not convicted.

In Australia, organized groups are reported to have snapped up milk powder in stores and sold it to high-demand markets such as China. At present, the number of purchasing agents in Australia has reached at least 80,000. Some purchasing agents sell milk powder for three times the retail price in Australia, earning more than A $100000 a year.

Both Woolworths and Coles are implementing two cans of milk powder per customer.
