According to the Daily Mail, one of Melbourne`s busiest highways closed three lanes in a car crash Friday afternoon, causing commuters home to face severe traffic jams.

It is reported that around 3 p.m. Friday, Melbourne`s southwest prince highway (Princes Freeway) Rafton (Laverton) section of the accident, involving a truck and a number of cars.

The truck driver suffered severe head injuries and was taken to hospital, where a man and a woman were treated.

Affected by the accident, all three lanes near the high street (High Street) entrance ramp on the right side were closed, leaving only one lane open to traffic, and emergency service personnel cleared debris from the accident at the scene.

Victoria Highway Service (VicRoads) spokesman Mir said it was one of the worst car crashes he had ever seen.
