188 E Overview of interim visas for entrepreneurs
Since September 10, 2016, the Australian Immigration Service has added a new 188 E category to the existing 188 visa series, the entrepreneurs temporary Visa (Entrepreneur Stream). The visa is a sub-category of 188 visas that need to be applied through the SkillSelect scoring system and are nominated by state or territorial governments. Entrepreneurs need to achieve IELTS 4, 6 points in English and receive A $ two hundred thousand from Australian third-party organizations to conduct business activities in Australia, meeting certain conditions, such as turnover, and hiring local staff. State guarantee Assessment criteria:

- Entrepreneurial activities must have innovative ideas to achieve the commercialization of products or services in Western Australia, or to drive the development of enterprises or business in Western Australia;
- Provide a business plan to illustrate the potential benefits of entrepreneurial activities to Western Australia;
- Applicants should live in Western Australia during entrepreneurial activities.
A business immigrant applicant must demonstrate that a business or investment in Western Australia contributes to the state's economy in the following ways
- Transfer to new capital;
- Creation of new jobs;
- Expanding trade in goods and services in Western Australia;
- Develop export markets or substitute imports for Western Australian products;
- Introduction of new skills, expertise, science, technology or innovation, or;
- Investment in remote areas of Western Australia
- Applicants over 55 years of age need to have a substantial and outstanding financial contribution to Western Australia;
- In assessing substantive and outstanding economic contributions, the Business Migration Centre takes into account the nature of the business, the amount of investment it invests, and the extent to which it affects the economy of Western Australia. The following applications will be given priority consideration
- Invest a lot of new capital;
- Create skilled employment or a large number of new jobs;
- Developing export markets or replacing imports;
- Introduction of new skills, expertise, science, technology or innovation;
- Doing business in remote areas of Western Australia;
- Significant impact on other sectors of the economy
Petitioners are obliged to demonstrate to the Business Migration Centre that their planned business activities will have a substantial and outstanding economic contribution to Western Australia and, if required, recommend that the applicant first contact the Business Migration Centre to discuss the business plan.
State guarantee clause
- As part of the assessment process, the Business Migration Centre may require an applicant to participate in an interview or ask an independent body to review the business plan;
- Upon arrival in Western Australia, the Business Migration Center requires state guarantees for business migrants to provide their address and company address in Western Australia, and the change of address should be notified to the Business Migration Center in a timely manner.
- State guarantees cannot be transferred to other states or territories without the approval of a commercial immigration centre;
- If a state-guaranteed visa holder applies for a permanent residence visa through other states / territories, you must first obtain a release from the state that originally guaranteed you, and the release must be obtained before applying for a permanent residence visa.
