The number of tourists soared before Urumu rock climbing was closed! The Australian man had a heart attack while climbing!

Urumu is reported to have triggered a wave of tourism as it will be closed to climbers this year.

On Tuesday afternoon, a man had a heart attack while climbing Uru.

The man, who was in his sixties, was lucky that two New State police officers, who were on vacation, climbed up the rocks and quickly revived him with a defibrillator.

Then the paramedics and police carefully lowered the man from the steep rock wall with ropes and pulleys.

He was treated in Yulara Health Centre and then taken to Alice Springs Hospital by the Royal Flying Medical team, where he went to Adelaide for specialist cardiac surgery.

Dale McIvor, chairman of the Australian Tourism Center, said the number of tourists had increased significantly before Urumu closed permanently to climbers this year.

According to the local Pitjantjatjara Anangu group, rock climbing is not allowed according to traditional law, and they also feel pain in the event of casualties.

McIvor says the number of climbers has fallen sharply in the past 10 to 12 years, and tourists are willing to respect the traditional wishes of locals.

She also said the possible permanent closure created a sense of urgency, especially in Australia's domestic market.

At the same time, McIvor cautioned that the difficulty of climbing rocks was underestimated, including steep rocks that were initially supported by only one chain. This should never be taken lightly.
