Avondale Farm is located on the western outskirts of Beverly (Beverley), an inland town south-west of Western Australia, about 115km from Perth, the capital of Western Australia.
Avondale Farm, owned by the Australian National Trust, is a modern farm with a long history and many heritage buildings, including farms in the 1850's, silage in the 1920's, garages in the 1960's and farm workshops in the 1990's.
The Avondale Farm also features the Agricultural Machinery Museum, which covers more than 100 years of farming in Western Australia, and a comprehensive 1890 building with stables, hay cutters, furnaces and Clydesdale horses.
Avondale Farm is developing an animal and flora nature reserve in an attempt to restore the area to its original state after nearly 150 years of grazing. There is also a walking path to receive a steady stream of tourists.
The picnic area offers free gas barbecue facilities and children's adventure playgrounds.
