Introduction of Lissner Park

Located in the heart of Charters Towers, a small inland town in northeast Queensland, Lissner Park is a beautiful city park with an area of about 7 hectares.

Lissner Park tree-lined, beautiful and quiet environment, the park has a Boer War Memorial Pavilion (Boer War Kiosk), round pavilion (Band Rotunda), Federal Fountain (Federation Fountain), as well as picnic facilities and children's playgrounds, the park lighting facilities are perfect. It's the perfect place for a night picnic.

Lissner Park was named after Isidore Siegfried Risner (Isidor Siegfried Lissner), who arrived in Charters Towers in 1873, and built a financial empire by mining and doing business during his stay with Charters Towers. He was keen on community affairs, pushing for the construction of a number of public facilities, including Lissner Park.
