In 2011, Shepparton Art Museum was rebuilt with the support of (Regional Development Victoria), the Victorian Local Development Authority, and its name was changed from the original Shepparton (Shepparton Art Gallery) to Shepparton Art Museum..
Shepparton Art Museum focuses on the collection of Australian art in a variety of mediums, including porcelain, and modern and aboriginal Australian art, with a recent collection of important works including Vernon Ake (Vernon Ah Kee), Peccinini (Patricia Piccinini), David Lunan (David Noonan), Tracy Moffat (Tracey Moffatt), Dale Frank (Dale Frank) and Fiona Foley (Fiona Foley) and other famous Australian artists.
