Introduction of Tondoon Botanic Gardens

Tondoon Botanic Gardens is located on the southern outskirts of Gladstone, a seaport town on the east coast of Queensland, about 5 kilometers by car from the heart of Gladstone and covers an area of about 83 hectares.

Situated in the rolling landscape of Burgundy's range (Mount Biondello), Tondoon Botanic Gardens was officially opened to the public in 1988, and the botanical garden is home to 1500 species of plants from (Port Curtis Region), Curtis Harbor, and (Tropical North Queensland), tropical North Queensland.

Tengton Lake (Lake Tondoon), located in the center of botanical garden, provided drinking water for Gladstone until 1945. Now Tengton Lake is no longer a drinking water source, ecological protection is great, and it is the habitat of many freshwater birds.

More than 100000 people visit the Tondoon Botanic Gardens, Botanical Garden every year with walkways, barbecue picnics, coffee shops and other facilities, and, Tondoon Botanic Gardens is a popular place for local residents and tourists to have picnics, walks, and cultural etiquette activities.
