Maryborough is a port city in northeast Queensland, about 250km from Queensland's capital Brisbane.
Maryborough was established in 1847 at the entrance of (Mary River), the Mari River, and became a city in 1861. In the second half of the nineteenth century, Maryborough was the main port of entry for immigrants from all over the world to Queensland.
