Maleny

Introduction of Maleny

Maleny is an inland town in the Sunshine Coast region (Sunshine Coast Region) in southeast Queensland, about 90 km from the Queensland capital Brisbane and 35 km from the Sunshine Coast (Sunshine Coast), the third largest city in Queensland.

Maleny is located in the Blackall range, with an average elevation of 450 meters, surrounded by rolling green hills peculiar to the hinterland of the Sunshine Coast. Apart from traditional logging and dairy industries, Maleny is known for its variety of art and galleries in tourism.

Prior to the arrival of European settlers, Maleny and surrounding areas were covered by dense subtropical rainforests, which swept the area from the end of the 19th to the beginning of the 20th century, and where harvests had resulted in the almost total deforestation of the surrounding areas of the Maleny. Only a few small rainforests remain in hard-to-reachto-reach, steep hills. In addition, about 40 hectares of rainforests have been fully protected and are now protected by the government of Queensland as the Mary Kane Kraus Scenic Reserve (Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve).
