Echuca

Introduction of Echuca

Echuca is located in the northeast of Victoria, bordering New South Wales, about 220 km from the Victoria capital Melbourne, about 780 km from the capital Sydney of New South Wales, and about 560 km from the capital territory.

Founded in 1853, Echuca was first built by a former prisoner, Harry Hepwood. At a time when river transport was rife, hundreds of bright ships were on the water between Echuca and mainland pastures. "Echuca" means" the junction of the water ", as this is where the Gugu River (Goulburn River) meets the Camposi River (Campaspe River) and the longest river in Australia, the Murray River (Murray River).

The Echuca is now one of Victoria's most popular tourist destinations, with Australia's largest fleet of steam bright ships, wharf that are still working and river ships that are being repaired. Echuca can experience recreational activities such as water skiing, cruise, swimming and boat house vacations.
