Bathurst

Introduction of Bathurst

Bathurst is a small town located in the central and western region of new south wales (The Central West), about 200 kilometers east from the capital of new south wales Sydney with a permanent population of about 43000. it is the largest city in the central and western region of new south wales.

Bathurst is a very long-standing city, which was home to the native Vallazeli (Wiradjuri) tribe before the white colonists came to the land 1000 years ago, and has ruled the land for nearly 700 years; until 1813, the British land surveyor George William Evans discovered it and began the modern history of Bathurst. Local residents discovered gold in the toulon river (Turon River) in june 1851, and in the following 10 years it became a paradise for gold miners around the world, increasing the population from less than 2000 to nearly 60,000, Bathurst officially established in 1885 and became the then famous golden city. With the cooling of the gold rush, with the establishment of many universities, Bathurst transformed into a university town; in 1940, by allowing schools to recruit foreign students, local law from nearly 100 countries in the world from now on, many of them left behind after graduation to inject vitality into the development of the city.

The Bathurst, is now prosperous, well-equipped and rich in tourism resources. Bathurst the well-preserved old city, there are many buildings from the gold rush period to the 19th century, covering different architectural styles, the totem of the indigenous people, the taverns and post stations during the gold rush period, and so on

Bathurst also has a modern side, the internationally renowned Palanoma Mountain Raceway (Mount Panorama Circuit) is located here, where many international events have been held.
