As we all know, Australia has been short of mathematics teachers and doctors for a long time. But there is one of the most difficult jobs you can`t imagine: hiring consultants.

New data and research from (RCSA), the Australian and New Zealand recruitment and consulting services association, have revealed that hiring consultants is quickly becoming one of the most difficult jobs in Australia, according to Australian News Corporation.

Charles Cameron, chief executive of RCSA, said the industry had changed dramatically in a short period of time, meaning the company often failed to recruit enough highly skilled Australians. In addition, the nature of the job suggests a high level of staff mobility, exacerbating the severity of the job shortage.

He also said the position was harder to fill as Australia`s goverment proposed to remove hiring consultants from the short-term technical careers list in 2018, making it harder to bring in more overseas talent. At present, the industry relies mainly on foreign consultants to fill the vacancies and train Australian workers.

RCSA submitted a report against the proposal to goverment, which lists hiring data from companies such as Seek,Indeed,JobGetter and LinkedIn to prove that the position of hiring consultant is indeed difficult to recruit.

Hiring consultants have advertised four times more than cooks in the past month alone, according to JobGetter. But Cameron`s claim was slapped in the face by Indeed, an online employment platform. Its most recent data show that Australia`s most difficult recruitment position, recruitment consultants ranked 17th.
