Air qantas (Qantas) flight will fly to europe's new crown epidemic zone, helping to bring home the stranded australians.
Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) confirmed that Qantas evacuation aircraft will be in France and Germany next month to pick up. A number of Australians have received mail from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (Foreign Affairs and Trade) indicating limited seats on flights.
Before that, Australian government had arranged evacuation flights to India and London. While diplomatic minister Penn (Marise Payne) is reluctant to provide details, she confirms that Qantas aircraft will fly to more countries soon.
"There will be more flights coming from New Delhi, London and elsewhere in the coming weeks ," Payne said on Thursday. "Ministry of Foreign Affairs are finalizing the passenger capacity of these flights around Christmas.
Australia's new German-French evacuation flights
A total of more than 36,000 Australians have indicated to Australian Ministry of Foreign Affairs their willingness to return home ,8070 of whom are listed as "vulnerable ".
Some Australians have now received details on how to book seats for flights from Paris and Frankfurt in mid-December. If they live in other countries, they must travel to the relevant airport on their own. The return ticket price is A $2151 per person.
Passengers over the age of 12 must be tested for Coronavirus within two days prior to departure, only if the test results are negative. After boarding, passengers must wear masks and change them every two hours.
According to Qantas, the company encourages people to bring their own food because "food and bottled water on board are limited ".
It is the first time since the outbreak that Australia has scheduled evacuation flights to Germany and France. As these flights land in darwin, passengers will have to undergo a two-week quarantine at the howa springs facility.
39,000 Australian returnees
Ministry of Foreign Affairs said 39000 Australians have returned since September. But federal and state government are still under pressure to allow more expatriates to return before Christmas.
In addition, Vizhou and South Australia are expected to resume hotel isolation next month, and Tazhou will receive three flights before Christmas. Canberra returned its first international flight in months on Thursday, with more planes landing soon.
