Australian authorities will seek assurance from Chinese authorities that Luo Haoling, an Australian Chinese suspected of being responsible for hiding his wife in a horizontal freezer in the Pymble district on the north coast of Sydney, will not be sentenced to death if he is questioned by Chengdu police detain.

It is reported that legal medical expert may not begin the post-mortem examination of the dead until tomorrow (Tuesday).

Investigation faces law and diplomatic obstacles

The negotiation between the government of the two countries on criminal cases needs to be made in accordance with the requirements for Mutual legal Assistance ((Mutual Legal Assistance Request)). This procedure is likely to be long and complex.

If Luo Haoling is charged with murder prosecute in China and the Chinese do not promise Australia that he will not be sentenced to death, the new state police can refuse to provide all the charges in the hands of the investigation, making it difficult for the Chinese to hear the case without evidence. China can expel Luo Haoling to Australia after his visa expires. New state police can arrest him immediately after he enters the country.
