Australia is a multicultural country, and this is our advantage, which makes us different and stronger. Australia today welcomes and respects immigration, in stark contrast to an unfair 1940s law by goverment, Victoria, to restrict Chinese workers from landing in Australia. We will not forget this injustice, we will not only remember the good things in the long river of history, we will never forget the sad things.
We are very proud of all of you here, and we sincerely thank the Chinese worker for his contribution to the state of Victoria. At the same time, we would like to thank the Chinese community of Victoria for their contribution to economy, culture, family and so on. The Chinese have a very positive spirit of citizenship and their rewards to society are admirable.
