A butcher in Australia`s Northern Territory has publicly apologized and promised to move away immediately after posing for photographs of naked sausages.
According to the Daily Mail, a butcher in Australia`s Northern Territory posted a photo of naked sausages on a social networking site on Friday, sparking a strong public response. The butcher was dismissed and the local school and store meat products were removed from the shelves pending further investigation.
The photo was taken at a slaughterhouse in Karkalindki (Kalkarindji), where the butcher was wearing apron and hat and nothing else.
In an interview with the media, the butcher said he was sorry for the "misjudgment of his own time" and that the photo was just taken to have a little fun. He himself paid homage to the aborigines and their culture and knowledge, and sincerely apologized to all those affected by his indiscreet behaviour.
To make up for the "damage and disappointment" to the local population, the butcher also promised that he would move immediately.
The Northern Territory`s first Industry Agency, (Department of Primary Industries), confirmed that an investigation was being conducted to ensure food safety for the local community.
The butcher said it was a personal act and did not represent his co-workers, employers or the industry as a whole.
