A seal loitering into a residential area was arrested and released to nature.

The seal was photographed sitting in a car in Launceston, Tata, on Monday, winning the attention of the world`s media.

The male seal, weighing an estimated 200 kilograms, was first seen on the street.

People fired an anesthetic gun at it, then transported it to the river and let it go to nature.

Wildlife scientist Rachael Alderman says they put seals back in the river after the anesthetic failed, and everything went well.

"everything went well except for the owner of the car," she told BBC.

It is believed that the seal has come to Launceston,50 km from the sea, through a nearby water channel. Dr. Alderman said it was a breeding season every year, and it was easy to see seals in the state.

"because of hormonal changes, we will see them in more unusual places."

Owner William Gregory, who was at Launceston`s home, said the seal had caused minor damage to the car.

"when we got up, we found a big seal sitting on the bus. It wasn`t what you were expecting in the morning." He told ABC.

"We`re going to change the front window and knock out a few indentations. The old car doesn`t matter. It`s worth it. "
