On Wednesday night, a teenager in Brisbane was hit and killed by a car after playing on the road, Radio 9 reported. Police call it "the stupidest way to die."

It is reported that near 10:00 Wednesday night, a 17-year-old boy and a friend were playing on the busy Annery Road (Annerley Road), south of Brisbane, when they were hit by a passing car.

Emergency service personnel rushed to the scene after receiving the report, but unfortunately, the teenager was seriously injured.

The driver of the vehicle, a 56-year-old man, was not seriously injured. The police believed that the driver had no fault in the incident.

A witness described the boys throwing shoes at each other while one of them ran across the road, according to Claire (Sean Cryer) of (Queensland Police), a Queensland police officer. The other came in and out of the traffic and returned to the south side of the island. But for some reason, the teenager ran into the road and was hit by a passing vehicle.

Police are investigating the incident.
