A couple were driving near Denver in central Victoria on Wednesday night when they saw kangaroos on the road. They ran out of control to avoid kangaroos and crashed into a tree on the side of the road.

Both of them died of their injuries.

The couple walked northeast in Daylesford-Malmsbury Road, near Denver, in central Victoria, according to the state police.

To avoid the kangaroo on the road, they turned left to the side of the road and, unfortunately, bumped into the tree on the side of the road.

It was about 09:30 in the evening.

When police and paramedics arrived at the scene, the driver's husband was dead in his seat.

Paramedics also tried to save their badly wounded wife, who died at the time.

Wednesday's state of Victoria was so unfortunate that five people were killed in a traffic accident.

By Wednesday night, 248 people had died in traffic accidents in Victoria this year.

There was a significant increase from 221 in the same period last year.
