18-year-old Briss drowned (Photo 7)
An 18-year-old Australian was washed away by a torrent of water and drowned. The drowning youth used to shout for help, but his friends mistook him for joking.
Shortly after Tropical Cyclone Irving (Cyclone Owen) crossed the border yesterday, Queensland 18-year-old Brice (Dane Bracey) jumped into Big Crystal Creek (Big Crystal Creek), and drowned, according to Radio 7.
Queensland police revealed that Briss was with his girlfriend and a group of friends and jumped into the stream from a 3-meter-high rock. Briss had surfaced and cried for help, and his friends thought he was joking. Brice then sank into the water again. Brice`s girlfriend, aware of something different, had tried to save people in the water, but conditions were too dangerous at the scene.
Then, a 27-year-old passer-by jumped into the stream, found Brice under a piece of wood and rescued him ashore. Emergency CPR was performed on Brice until paramedics arrived. However, Briss was still pronounced dead on the spot.
After learning this unfortunate news, Brice`s relatives and friends have sent a message on the social networking site to mourn.
