Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller said in an interview that he hopes the driverless bus route will help transport workers to and from the airport during the five-year construction period. Mayor Waller said: "We`re going to turn Sydney southwest into a`30-minute city, `not a dream, it`s what`s going on, and we hope advanced technology will benefit the residents of Liverpool and the workers here."

A total of 11,000 workers are now building the new airport, which is expected to be completed by 2026.

Once the line runs, it will make it easier for people to get to the airport and Aerotropolis, where they can work.

David Borger, head of the West Sydney Chamber of Commerce, said: "if you live in Miller, it will mean that you will only be at the airport for about 10 minutes."

He also believes that in the next 20 years, it will bring more new residential, commercial, educational and other buildings to the Liverpool and surrounding areas.
