A young man was killed after riots broke out in Australia`s northern territory inland aboriginal town. The riots were said to have been triggered by the death of a local family last week.

At around 11:30 on Monday, police in the Northern Territory received reports of rioting in the town of (Ali Curung), a town of Arikuru, 150km east of (Tennant Creek) in Tengnante Creek, the Australian news network reported. When the police arrived at the scene, they saw burned cars and looted buildings.

The rioting is said to involve as many as 100 people. Police also found the body of a 25-year-old man, initially believed to have killed him.

Last week, a 19-year-old local young man, his 19-year-old partner, two three-year-old children and a 12-year-old boy accompanying him were found dead. There is no doubt that the police have investigated and judged the deaths of four people, but rumors have spread around the incident. There are media reports that the town has a restless atmosphere.

Northern Territory Superintendent Norbes (Jody Nobbs) declined to comment on whether the unrest was triggered by last week`s tragedy.

The town of Arikuru has a population of only 500. Over the past few years, there has been hostility between the eastern and western communities of the town. The recent series of shocking events has increased tensions on the ground. Among them, in March this year, a 4-year-old local child was tortured by rape.
