New states accounted for the largest share of new jobs in Australia in March, while new states gradually caught up with new jobs in five major industries, the Australian news network reported.
The number of job advertisements across Australia rose 16.2 percent in March from a year earlier, according to SEEK, a job-hunting website. New states account for 34% of total new jobs, compared with 28% in Victoria. Kunzhou`s 19 percent, Western Australia`s 9 percent, South Australia`s 4 percent, Taju 1.3 percent, and the Northern Territory`s lowest, 0.6 percent.
In healthcare, architectural design, engineering, tourism services, and information and communications technology, the gap in the number of new jobs in New and Victoria has narrowed.
Banks (Kendra Banks), manager of SEEK Australia and New Zealand, said the state`s rapid population growth played an important role in increasing its job ads.
Victoria`s population grew by 2.4 percent a year (or one hundred and forty six thousand nine hundred and ninety nine people), surpassing the 1.6 percent increase in the new state, or one hundred and twenty three thousand, according to (Australian Bureau of Statistics), the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
Banks noted that population changes are a bellwether for spending and development, especially in roads, schools and infrastructure investments. Growth in investment in these areas will lead to job creation.
While the state is catching up with new jobs in five major industries, it is still far ahead in other areas, including government and defense, mining, resources and energy, real estate, human resources, science and technology. New states have added more than twice as many jobs in the government and defense sectors as they have in Victoria.
Banks said that was mainly due to the recent announcement of a number of important infrastructure projects by the new state government, including a multi-million dollar investment to upgrade correctional facilities.
