Shark sightings around Sydney Harbor have increased sharply, including popular swimming attractions.

According to Channel 7, senior fisherman McGill (Craig McGill) said the current shark invasion in Sydney Port is arguably the worst he has seen in 30 years and meets sharks every day.

McGill recently took a series of photos showing the fish torn and sharks bitten in half.

McGill also warned that people should be careful when they play on the central beach, such as Crantav (Clontarf).

McGill said he had never seen so many sharks in the water since the 2009 attack on Navy diver Degna (Paul DeGelder) in (Woolloomooloo), Urumlu. He has been fishing at Sydney Harbour for 30 years, calling it "the worst time I`ve ever seen."

Although local fishermen say they are witnessing a growing number of sharks every day, the Department of first Industry in New York disagrees, saying research shows no sign of an increase in shark populations.

McGill believes the warm waters and the abundance of monarch fish may attract more sharks. He advised swimmers to be vigilant and avoid getting into the water early in the morning or in the evening.
