A top plastic surgeon in Sydney declared bankruptcy. He had persuaded a patient to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on his business.
Dr. Tobias Pincock was also accused of violating a 10-year-old boy in his private life, who was then violently ordered to stay away from the child.
He said he strongly denied the allegations and would resist them.
The eastern suburban plastic surgeon was declared bankrupt in January, with nearly 7 million yuan in debt, according to documents seen by the media. But his ex-wife claims he deliberately minimised the real size of his income.
Former patient Carolyn Tonkli was persuaded by the doctor to come up with a third mortgage and invest three hundred and thirty thousand yuan in one of Dr. Pincock`s many businesses. She said she was owed half the money.
"I believe in him. He`s my plastic surgeon, he operated on me four times, and he operated on my son. " She said.
"I feel like a fool."
Dr.: Tobias Pincock and Dr. Suzan Bekir are in surgery.
Despite Dr. Pincock`s cash-flow difficulties, the clinic is still functioning as usual, according to the website of the clinic he once owned. And at Taylor Clinic and his own clinic, he is still the most frequently named plastic surgeon by clients.
The plastic surgeon says he now works for his wife and business partner Dr., Suzan Bekir at Norwest ENT.
Last year they lived in a luxury home in Woollahra after they sold Bondi`s Grand Manor for $4.2 million.
"Dr. Pincock used to make a lot of money," his trustee at the time of bankruptcy, David Solomons of de Vries Tayeh, told creditors.
But now the surgeon`s income has plummeted to $ two hundred and fifty thousand a year. This, according to the documents, is less than the alimony he pays to his first wife and children every year.
The trustee said Dr Pincock`s ex-wife`s doubts were "reasonable hypotheses." She believes Dr. Pincock`s bankruptcy was a monthly obligation to "obstruct" and "frustrate" her and her children up to $20, 000.
But Solomons said: "the main reason for his bankruptcy is his excessive financial commitment and falling income."
The trustee said Mrs. Pincock claimed to have a document on Dr. Pincock`s other bank account. "Dr. Pincock disclosed that income this year is expected to be only two hundred and fifty thousand yuan, but this document raises doubts about that estimate."
Dr Pincock`s compensation from health insurance is now paid to his head. The company is in touch with his current wife.
The doctor also spent nearly four hundred thousand yuan to renovate the Noosa cocktail bar. But the trustee failed to determine, through Dr. Pincock`s "countless trust structures," how much property he owned.
Two years ago, Dr. Pincock was "strongly condemned" for continuing rhinoplasty for 45 minutes of cardiac arrest on the operating table.
Dr. Pincock did not realize that the woman`s life was "more important than her nose," according to the Professional Standards Board, which belongs to the New State Medical Council.
Dr. Pincock declined to comment, but he is understood to insist that all of his bankruptcy is real.
