Prosperous cities such as Sydney and Melbourne are growing, while employers in remote parts of Australia say it is difficult to hire.

With 46000 jobs in Australia, businesses and farmers have to rely on immigrants to fill unattended jobs, the Daily Mail reported.

According to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, there are currently about 1000 vacant jobs in the small Virginia town of (Warrnambool), more than three hours from Melbourne.

South China Mayor (Tony Herbert) told the media that the number of vacant jobs is expected to increase to 7000 in the next three to four years.

The town of 35000 people does have a lower cost of living than a metropolis, but it is clearly not enough to attract new residents.

At the same time, in the far north of Queensland, the automotive industry vacant more than 3700 jobs. In 2005, the number of (Riverina) jobs in the Rivelena region of the new state also reached 1000, most of which were concentrated in the medical sector.

The problem of hiring in remote areas seems to be caused by the high mobility caused by the preference of native Australians for urban life and the inability to admit heavy work.

Dairy farmer Dixson (Brian Dickson) worries that a shortage of workers could lead to the end of the Australian dairy industry. Although the hourly salary is as high as A $24, it is still difficult to find odd jobs who are willing to pay on time.

Australia`s federal government is alleviating the problem by allowing farmers to recruit foreign workers. If immigrants are willing to work in the place for three years, they can even get permanent residence in Australia.

However, the new plan angered the union. Unions believe government is offering low-skilled jobs to immigrants, not young locals.

Michele O`Neill, chairman of the Australian Trade Union Council (ACTU), told the media that government should encourage local residents to work locally and invest in highly skilled job training.
