According to Radio 7, alligators were spotted in the area of (The Strand) at (Townsville) Strand Beach in Tang City, while the family swimming just a few meters out of the crocodile remained calm.

Jack (Jake) and Joel (Joel) brothers followed their father from Tutumba (Toowoomba) to Tang City for a holiday. They found a crocodile swimming near Strand Beach, one of the hot spots, and decided to go to the water park.

"it`s pretty cool," Joel told reporters. I don`t want to stay there. It`s better to go back to shore. It seems to be a few meters long, but it`s not very, very big, it`s pretty big. " Jack also said he would take a swim in Strand before going to the water park. "I don`t think we`re going to be in the water anymore," he said.

Jack said it was his first day around the soup market and saw crocodiles "pretty cool" in the sea, but was unlikely to swim again "today or tomorrow". Neither of them had thought the trip would hit a crocodile, their father and son said.

Authorities have recently received reports of crocodile infestation on Strand Beach. On Nov. 18, someone called the police saying there was something in the water inside the apartment, suspected to be two crocodiles. But wildlife conservationists turned up and found nothing. Six days later, lifeguards reported seeing an animal`s tail in the water.

A spokesman for the Environment and Heritage Agency (Environment and Heritage Protection) said wildlife conservationists had set warning signs in the area since they received eyewitness reports.
