On Wednesday morning, police released the names and photos of the man accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl, Brett Hill.

On Wednesday morning, police released the names and photos of the man accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl, Brett Hill.

According to sources, the 47-year-old man is a homeless man who lives in a car allegedly used for sexual abuse of girls.

Today at the Newcastle District Court, Judge Robert Stone lifted a confidential order about Hill`s identity, although his lawyers believe it would put him at risk in prison.

The court also heard that another plaintiff also offered to testify. This plaintiff is a witness, not a victim.

Prosecutors believe the release of Hill could lead more witnesses or victims to police contact.

"the public should be aware of the perpetrators of these crimes," the prosecutor said. "the disclosure of identity will not affect the investigation."

Police say the girl was abducted by Hill last Tuesday near a school in Adamstown Heights.

She was allegedly driven by criminals to remote jungle areas before she was sexually assaulted. Five hours before she was released in Kotara Railway Station.

Police spliced images of the CCTV system together and received more than 200 phone calls saying it was their "mission" to work with the police to catch criminals.

Police took a picture of Friday`s time from a bus, making a breakthrough in the case.

Police seized Hill`s red Holden Commodore for inspection.

On Saturday, Hill was arrested in Hamilton.

He was charged with kidnapping, six counts of serious sexual assault and four counts of gross indecent assault.

Newcastle police chief Brett Greentree called the victim a "hero."

"this is a great girl," he said. "after the criminals are arrested, parents and children in this area should be more relieved."
