A Queensland hearse driver left the baby`s body on the roof and lost it in transit and was fined A $5000.
Last November, the body of a baby in Rockhampton, Queensland, was lost on the way to Brisbane, the Daily Mail>reported.
It is reported that at that time, the body of the baby was forgotten on the roof of the hearse. Bertrand (Richard John Bertrand), a hearse driver at funeral service Queensland Funeral Transfers, arrived at the Brisbane morgue before discovering that the baby`s body had disappeared.
The next day, road workers found the baby`s body by the (Sunshine Coast) road on Sunshine Coast.
Bertrand then said he was deeply embarrassed and sorry for the family concerned.
Bertrand pleaded guilty to body-related misconduct at the Malucci District Court (Maroochydore Magistrates Court) on Monday.
Bertrand was eventually fined A $5000 and the conviction was not recorded.
